2Kva 48V Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines
Wind turbines Kenya
The 2KVA (2000W) 48V Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine is a mid-size renewable power option for Kenyan homes and farms in windy regions. It's self-starting, requires less mounting height and space than the 3KVA model, and pairs with a 12V/24V charge controller for straightforward battery charging — backed by a 24-month warranty and countrywide delivery.
| Component / Feature | Specification | Practical Meaning & Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Rated Output | 2000W @ 48V | Capable of providing up to 2kW of power; standard for medium off-grid setups, cabin power, or battery banks. |
| Blades | 3x Nylon Fiber | Lightweight, high tensile strength, and resistant to UV rays and dynamic stress, allowing lower cut-in wind speeds. |
| Housing / Case | Casting Aluminum Alloy | Superior heat dissipation for the generator, lightweight, and highly resistant to weather/corrosion. |
| Generator Type | 3-Phase PM AC Synchronous | High efficiency, reliable, brushless design with low operational resistance. |
| Charge Controller | MPPT (24V/48V Auto) | Maximum Power Point Tracking optimizes energy harvesting from variable wind speeds and manages battery charging safely. |
| Direction & Yaw | Electromagnet / Wind Wheel Yaw | Automatically pivots the turbine head into the wind to capture maximum power and protect against harsh turbulence. |
| Operating Temp | -40°C to 80°C | Extreme-weather rated; safe for arctic cold or intense desert heat. |
Key System Insights
3-Phase AC Output: Since the generator produces 3-phase AC power, you run three wires from the turbine down to the MPPT controller, which then rectifies it to DC power to charge your 48V battery bank.
48V System Advantage: Operating at 48V reduces current ($I = P/V$ ), allowing you to use thinner copper wiring from the tower to your charge controller without losing significant power to heat resistance.
Over-Speed / High Wind Protection: The combination of mechanical yawing and electromagnetic braking (via the controller) prevents the turbine from spinning out of control during high gales or storms.
2KVA 48V Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine
For homes, farms, and small businesses across Kenya's windier zones — the coast (Mombasa, Malindi, Kilifi, Diani), the Rift Valley (Naivasha, Ngong, Narok), and the north (Marsabit, Turkana) — the 2KVA Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine offers a more compact, accessible entry point into wind power than larger 3KVA+ systems, while still meaningfully supplementing solar generation, especially at night or during overcast weather.
As a horizontal axis design, this turbine benefits from the same core advantages as its larger 3KVA sibling in the Kreatives lineup: high efficiency, self-starting operation, high rotational speed, and blade designs engineered to find their optimal attack angle automatically. Taller towers catch stronger, steadier wind once shear effects are accounted for, and the blades can tilt the rotor during storms to reduce mechanical stress and damage — a useful safety feature in Kenya's occasional high-wind events along the coast.
It includes a 12V/24V hybrid charge controller for battery charging and mounts on a rooftop tower for simplified installation on residential or commercial roofs, making it well suited to properties that want to add wind generation without a full free-standing tower installation. Backed by Kreatives' 24-month warranty and countrywide delivery across Kenya.
